Cardi B turns heads at 2019 Grammys in 1995 Mugler oyster gown

"The world is your oyster and you are the pearl..." was clearly the inspiration behind Cardi B's look for Sunday night's 61st Annual Grammy Awards.

The 26-year-old rapper, who is one of the most nominated females of the night, channeled a high-fashion oyster on the red carpet, paying tribute to her rags-to-riches success story.

Her jaw-dropping 1995 vintage Thierry Mugler couture gown featured a sequin nude bodysuit with a dramatic pleated shell skirt, silk gloves and a pearl head piece -- illustrating the evolution of a pearl beginning its life inside an oyster's shell.

Cardi is nominated for a stunning seven Grammy awards, including Album of the Year and Best Rap Album for "Invasion of Privacy," Record of the Year for "I Like It," and Best Rap Performance for "Be Careful."

This epic red carpet moment marks the first time she and ex-fiancé Offset have publicly made an appearance since announcing their split. The two did not hold back touching tongues for the cameras.
