1 gunman in custody, but another remains at large in Kansas bar shooting that left four dead, five wounded

One of two gunmen accused of killing four people inside a Kansas bar early Sunday has been captured, but the other suspect remains on the loose and should be considered "armed and dangerous," according to authorities.

Javier Alatorre, 23, was taken into custody later Sunday in Kansas City, not far from where the shooting at Tequila KC Bar took place hours earlier.

Cops said Alatorre was apprehended with assistance fromm the FBI, the ATF and the Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department. However, authorities are still looking for 29-year-old Hugo Villanueva-Morales, and are cautioning people not to approach him.

Alatorre and Villanueva-Morales have both been charged with four counts of murder in the rampage that also left five people wounded.

“We think there was something that happened in the bar earlier probably,” police Officer Thomas Tomasic told The Associated Press. “Unfortunately, they left and decided to take it to another level, came back and started shooting.”

Tomasic added that “it’s a pretty small bar, so if you have two guys come in and start shooting, people are just running, running anywhere they can.”

Kansas City, Kansas resident Juan Ramirez told the Kansas City Star that his 29-year-old nephew was killed.

He “nothing to do with it,” Ramirez told the newspaper. “We’re just in shock and disbelief.”

Ramirez said his nephew is survived by two young children.
