Sears is closing more Sears and Kmart stores.

The two retailers' parent company, Transform Holdco, announced in a press release on Tuesday that 26 stores will close in late October, with liquidation sales expected to begin around August 15. Included in the closures are 21 Sears and five Kmart stores.

These closures join the growing list of hundreds of Sears stores to have closed in the last few years. The company was bought out of bankruptcy in February.

"We have made the difficult but necessary decision to close 26 large-format Sears and Kmart stores in late October."

The announcement also said that the Sears Auto Centers at the closing locations will remain open until late August.
