Plus-sized model denied from a Miami club for being 'fat'

A plus-sized model is considering legal action after being banned by a Miami nightclub whose promoter told her that rapper Future had said “no fatties” were to be allowed in.

Montreal model Naomie Chaput, known as Nao, was in Miami for a photo shoot and planned to hit the town, she told BuzzFeed News. They aimed for a club named Story.

“She was on her way there and they were in contact with the promoter who had arranged for them to go to the club,” her publicist, Daniel Bouabdo, told BuzzFeed News. “Don’t even bother coming. Future asked for no fatties.”

Nao took to Instagram with a video detailing the incident, which immediately drew loads of social media backlash almost before Future had heard about it. The rapper responded via Twitter, saying, “Stop cappin on my name… I love all women.”

The two proceeded to correspond about the incident on Instagram, with Nao looking for an apology and Future acting aggrieved and protesting his innocence.

“You lied on my name,” he wrote. “You should’ve said Story told you that s**t.”

Both Bouabdo and BuzzFeed News reached out to Future but got no response, the news outlet said.

Future told Nao he hadn’t been the one to say it, that any talk like that had come from the promoter. Nao asked him to disavow himself from the club.

Meanwhile, numerous people have distanced themselves from Future, ranging from calling on him to address the issue, to stating they have erased all his music from their library.

“If that is true of what Future said I will boycott all of his music out of my playlist,” one person wrote on social media, according to Atlanta Black Star.

Nao said in the end she wasn’t sure whether the actual pronouncement had been made by Future or the club’s promoter on Future’s behalf. Either way, she and Bouabdo have hired a Miami law firm to investigate potential discrimination claims, BuzzFeed said.
