'The Bachelorette': 'Whaboom' guy admits he went on the show for fame

The "Whaboom" guy may have just been eliminated on The Bachelorette, but he's far from ready to step away from the spotlight. Season 13 castoff Lucas Yancey kicked off his self-promotion tour within a week of being dumped by ABC's leading lady Rachel Lindsay on the June 5 episode.

The 30-year-old lasted three weeks on the ABC reality dating series, where he heavily promoted his "whaboom!" catchphrase to the torment of several fellow contestants.

In a recent interview with The Domenick Nati Show, Yancey spoke out about his true motives to going on the show, his lofty plans to break into the entertainment industry and what he really thinks about his beef with his two-time reality show rival Blake E.

Yancey admits fame lured him to The Bachelorette.

Yancey says his genuine interest in the show compared to his motive to make a name for himself (and "whaboom") break down to about "50-50," adding, "Some people take it way too seriously. I wasn't there to get the next rose. That's obviously part of it, but it's mostly about being on the show." Yancey also revealed he has had his signature catch phrase trademarked for three years and just came out with a "whaboom" song which he promises "will be a huge summer hit."

He would "definitely consider" his next career move being on Dancing With the Stars, as he feels he has "a lot to give to the world. Whaboom is just the tip of the iceberg. There's a lot more to bring to the table. You've just scene a glimpse of what Lucas Yancey can do."

He doubts his fellow contestants are there for the "right reasons."

Yancey argued that Lindsay's suitors "B.S." their way through the show, ingenuously telling her they love her. "In reality, what person after meeting them after five minutes says, 'I'm in love'?"

Yancey is open to saying "whaboom" during sex.

If someone paid him to say "whaboom" while being intimate with him, "that would be fine." He added, "I don't think any girl would want to hear that and/or be turned on by that. It's possible. It's a crazy world. I'm not saying I'd never do it, just that I've never done it."

He is not a fan of Bachelorette and Bachelor in Paradise alum Chad Johnson, the "villain" from JoJo Fletcher's season.

Yancey describes Johnson as "a bully and just a bad guy. He's actually just a bad person. It sounds like he's been like that his whole life."

Yancey does not think his fellow season 13 contestant Lee Garrett is as bad as some Bachelor Nation fans may think.

Garrett recently made headlines when racist tweets allegedly sent through Garrett's Twitter account surfaced. While Yancey acknowledges Garrett is "getting a bad rap," the Bachelorette castoff says Garrett "never once showed any sort of racial type of things when I was around. From what I know about Lee, he was a solid dude with a little bit of a chip on his shoulder. He was trying to just kind of stand up for himself."

But he is quick to dig on Blake Elarbee. The two have a history, as they previously appeared on the reality show Ex Isle together and brought their beef to Bachelorette. Elarbee accused Yancey of being on the series to promote "whaboom" (which turned out to be partly true).

"We've hung out like three times," Yancey said of his former housemate. "I think he has a little bit of an imbalance. I think he should seek help." Viewers might recall a moment in which Yancey told Rachel Lindsay that Elarbee watched him sleep, while eating a banana over his bed. Yancey plead the fifth over whether or not that was true (Elarbee denied it), and said doing something like that is "definitely in [Blake's] wheelhouse.

While he has not spoken to Rachel since they parted ways, he wishes her "all the best."

"I probably was not the right guy for Rachel, but we did have that fun, loving friendship. At the end of the day, we didn't have that whaboomish chemistry. ...; I do think Rachel did find love," Yancey explains. He also shared he's a big fan of Josiah and thinks he and Rachel have the best chemistry.

The Bachelorette is dark Monday due to the ongoing NBA Finals and will return next week at 8 p.m. on ABC.
