Rousing Rumors of a Red Dead Revival from Rockstar Really Rivet Us

Updated

As Outkast once famously said, "power music electric revival!"

We haven't heard much from Take-Two Interactive or Rockstar Games recently, and speculation is rampant on what their next project is (cough*Red Dead*cough). So while we like throwing darts in the dark as much as anybody on the Internet, recent smoke traveled through the web about Rockstar's next game (cough*Red Dead*cough). And where there is smoke, there is usually fire.

Someone anonymously sent an e-mail from a former employee to a website, yadda yadda, typical rumor mongering. But the fervor from fans about a sequel to the blockbuster hit Red Dead Redemption will give any rumor legs. We're really hopeful this news is backed by solid insider information, because Red Dead Redemption was easily one of the best games to come out last generation, and was a gigantic success both critically and commercially.

The details are the game is called "Red Dead Redemption 2: Legends of the West", which is a horrible name. It should be Red Dead Revival, and that's it, but we didn't make up the rumor. It will apparently feature more playable characters like GTA V did, and a bigger map, which if you ask us is really easy to guess. I mean, anyone could have assumed that, so these leaked details do not really convince us this is straight from Rockstar, but at this point, we will take what we can get.

When will this game be announced? Can you take any of this with grains of salt? Will Rockstar surprise everyone and show up at an E3 press conference and tattoo a logo on someone's arm? Would Phil Spencer even get a tattoo, or is he above that kind of thing? We have too many questions and not enough answers, but plenty of time to wait. Even though we can't wait.
