Uncharted 4 Has Been Delayed For, Like, The 20th Time

Updated

Okay yeah, fine, that last part might be a bit hyperbolic but, c'mon — we've seen versions of this headline plenty of times before, haven't we? But that doesn't make this one any less valid — Uncharted 4: A Thief's End has once again been delayed. But before you start to freak out and revoke your pre-orders, just hold your horses: you won't have to end up waiting that much longer to get the game in your grubby little mitts.

The highly anticipated conclusion to the Uncharted franchise (allegedly, at least) was previously set for a release date of April 26, but will now ship out a couple weeks later on May 10. Yeah sure, it's only an additional 14 days, but any additional time we have to wait for Nathan Drake's final adventure is wasted time, if you ask me. Still though, as is the case for most delays, there's a really good reason/excuse for this one, as detailed by the official announcement on the Playstation Blog.

"In an effort to meet the considerable worldwide demand, and to ensure that all gamers worldwide have the opportunity to play the game on day one, we have chosen to postpone the launch of the game by two weeks to allow for extra manufacturing time."

So yeah, really, there's nothing this delay should get you worried about in terms of quality -- all this is doing is making it so that Sony and Naughty Dog can ship out as much copies as possible at the time of the game's release. And if that means more people getting their hands on the game, well, that's always considered a positive in my book.

In any case, my anticipation for Uncharted 4 couldn't be any higher -- but just in case yours still has some room to grow, how about you check out the new story trailer they released for the game just last week? Like all things Uncharted, it's pretty awesome.
