'Arrival' trailer: Amy Adams can talk to aliens

Communication is the key to any good relationship, even those of the intergalactic variety.

Thus is the premise for Paramount's alien invasion film Arrival, which premiered its first teaser trailer today. The feature stars Amy Adams as a linguist who is recruited by the military to determine whether alien crafts that have landed around the world come in peace or are a threat.

Originally titled Story of Your Life, the film is based on Hugo Award-winning author Ted Chiang's short story.

Jeremy Renner and Forest Whitaker also star in the Denis Villeneuve-directed feature.

Arrival hits in theaters on Nov. 11, arriving just in time for awards season.
