Writers Guild Nominates Assassin's Creed, Alien, and More


The months from September to February - better known as "awards season" - is dominated by the film industry, with excellence and achievement in filmmaking recognized throughout those six months. But achievement in video games isn't left out in all the awards fun.

On Monday, the Writers Guild of America released the 2015 nominations for Outstanding Achievement in Video Game Writing. The nominees are Alien Isolation, Assassin's Creed: Freedom Cry, Assassin's Creed: Unity, and The Last of Us.

In order to qualify for the nomination, the games had to have been released between Dec. 1, 2013 and Nov. 30, 2014, according to IGN. The games also had to feature on-screen credits for writers part of the Writers Guild, or have had applied to become members before the game scripts were submitted for consideration.
