Hi-Rez Studios, the independent developer of the action MOBA game, Smite, is raising the hype levels before the game's first international world championship on Jan. 9.

And to accomplish that, Hi-Rez Studios has released the first cinematic trailer for the game where players get to control a pantheon of gods and goddesses from many different ancient mythologies, including Greek, Norse, and Egyptian.

The release comes days before the Smite World Championships, running through Jan. 9 to Jan. 11, in which teams will compete for a prize pool totaling more than $2 million, at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta, Georgia.
