Buffalo did all it could to rattle Patriots quarterback Tom Brady and the plan worked, but the final score still ended up 20-13 in New England's favor. The Patriots were able to take a 10-3 lead into halftime and then held on in the second half with the help of two touchdowns by reserve running back James White.

Tyrod Taylor was playing well for most of the night but could to make the big play when needed. Taylor finished with 266 yards on 20-of-36 passing without a touchdown or interception. Sammy Watkins never got on track, going without a catch in the first half, finishing with three receptions and 33 yards.

Highlights

Three Stars

1. Danny Amendola

Amendola had nine receptions for 117 yards, leading all players in the game. Amendola's role is becoming even more important with Julian Edelman out for at least a month with a broken foot.

2. LeSean McCoy

McCoy was running tough all night, gaining 82 yards on 20 carries with a touchdown. McCoy also caught six passes for 41 yards, doing all he could to put a middling Buffalo defense on his back.

3. Tom Brady

Brady was only 20-of-39 and had one touchdown with an interception, but he made the big plays at the big moments. Brady found White at the end of the first half for a key touchdown and then was able to convert multiple third downs in the second half, along with tight throws throughout.

Odds

New England was favored by 7.5 points and was not able to cover the spread against Buffalo.

Next Week

Buffalo hits the road for the third consecutive week and plays the Kansas City Chiefs. New England also travels to take on the Denver Broncos.
