Sheeran recently revealed to The Mirror that he wrote his song "Thinking Out Loud" with his childhood friend to help her with financial troubles.
Fellow singer/songwriter, Amy Wadge, will forever be grateful for Sheeran for his act of kindness in her time of need.
%shareLinks-quote="[Wadge] was going through financial troubles about a year ago. She drove to my house, my album was nearly done, and she asked if I could put a song from when I was 17 on the deluxe album, so she could get a little bit of money and pay the mortgage " type="quote" author="Ed Sheeran" authordesc="The Mirror" isquoteoftheday="false"%
"While she was there, we wrote 'Thinking Out Loud'," Sheeran said. "Now she never has to worry about money again."
Today, "Thinking Out Loud" has been streamed more than half a billion times on Spotify alone, and has gone platinum three times in the U.K.
