Ryan Adams' interpretation of Taylor Swift's 1989 album joins its inspiration in the top 10 of the Billboard 200 chart (dated Oct. 10).

The former debuts at No. 7 with 56,000 equivalent album units earned in the week ending Sept. 24, according to Nielsen Music. It's one step ahead of Swift's own 1989 set, which moves 5-8 in its 48th week on the chart (42,000 units; up 4 percent).

It's the fourth top 10 for Adams, who previously visited the top 10 with his self-titled album in 2014 (No. 4), Ashes & Fire in 2011 (No. 7) and Easy Tiger in 2007 (No. 7).

The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week based on multi-metric consumption, which includes traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). The new Oct. 10-dated chart (where Adams and Swift are top 10 buddies) will be posted in full to Billboard's website on Tuesday, Sept. 29.
