Sold: Patrick Stewart's Manhattan Penthouse Apartment
"It attracted multiple bids," Lewis says of the co-op unit listed for $3.8 million. "Ideally, it will be closing soon." The 1,300-square-foot, two-bedroom apartment at 118 West 79th St. features drop-dead gorgeous views of Manhattan's Central Park and the Upper West Side cityscape, and a wide, wrap-around terrace on the south and east sides of the unit.
The apartment hit the market June 6 and went under contract in July, Lewis told AOL, though he wouldn't reveal the sales price.
Patrick Stewart, of "Star Trek" and "X-Men" fame, was knighted by Britain's Queen Elizabeth in 2010. He and his ex-wife, television producer Wendy Neuss, bought the apartment as a pied-a-terre for $1.8 million.
"I could picture having cocktail parties out on the terrace in the magic hour at sunset," Neuss told the The New York Times. "And I already knew and liked the neighborhood. You step out the front door and you're right in the middle of everything. Plus there's Zabar's."
For you non-New Yorkers, Zabar's is the best deli, ever.
After their divorce, Neuss made the penthouse her full-time home.
The apartment features:
- 1,100-square-foot terrace
- Breakfast bar with black granite countertops
- Diamond-cut skylight
- Glass French doors
- 29-by-15-foot living-entertainment room with 9½-ft. ceilings.
