It's back-to-school season, and the occasion has us thinking about teaching careers, and some hard realities you might not have known about (did you know that teachers spend an average of $700 out-of-pocket on school supplies, for instance?). We explored that this week, along with a strike on the part of Times Square's costumed characters and a national effort to stop supermarket chain Kroger from allowing customers to openly carry weapons in their stores.
