Unravelling Yoshi's Woolly World

Updated

Our favorite little dinosaur with an insatiable appetite and fabulous saddle is finally getting another game, Yoshi's Woolly World! Yoshi's Island (and its remakes) are among some of my favorite Nintendo first-party titles and it's about time Yoshi got some shine.

Yoshi's Woolly World is expected to come out for Wii U sometime 2015. But this time around Mario won't be there to sit on Yoshi's saddle. Seriously, why does Mario always have to be the center of attention? I think we can all agree Baby Mario is a total jerk.

It play much like you would expect a Yoshi game would, except this time everything is made out of yarn, felt, cotton, and cloth. Instead of eggs, Yoshi throws balls of yarn to knock out enemies and build platforms. You can also play co-op with a friend you explore the levels even further.

The game has wonderfully rich textures and with all the cuteness of Yoshi and his pals I will surely play this from start to finish... and then again.

Jeremy Parish of USGamer had the opportunity to interview Producer Takashi Tezuka who explains that the unique visual style of Yoshi's upcoming Wii U adventure isn't just about looks; it's also shaped the way the game plays.
