Boeing Logs Only 1 New Plane Order in Most Recent Update
Boeing released its latest report on airplane orders received -- and canceled -- through late March 2014 on Thursday.
To date, the aerospace giant has booked:
183 "gross" orders for various flavors of its 737 regional airliner
four orders for the 777 airliner
one 747 order
one 787 order
No new order cancellations have come in since last week. So after subtracting the 12 orders for single-aisle 737s lost to cancellation so far this year, Boeing is left with 177 net orders booked to date -- or just one plane more than last week.
The sole new plane order recorded in the latest week is described as being a single 737 sold to a "Business Jet / VIP Customer." Two such sales have now been recorded by Boeing this year, the previous plane being Boeing's only 787 order of the new year.
In related news, Japan's ANA Holdings announced Thursday it is placing orders for 40 Boeing airplanes -- 20 new 777-9X airliners, six 777-300ERs, and 14 787-9 Dreamliners. This announcement, however, arriving Thursday, did not meet the March 25 cutoff for Boeing's latest update on orders received.
