Leonardo DiCaprio has a new place to rest, and the timing couldn't be any better. The actor announced in early 2013 that he planned to take a long break after wrapping "The Wolf of Wall Street." What better place to unwind after award season than in a brand new Palm Springs home?

The first rumors of DiCaprio (right) buying in the Coachella Valley was reported by a local paper, The Desert Sun. The publication confirmed the sale price of $5.2 million, but due to confidentiality agreements, they could not confirm DiCaprio as the buyer. Property records, however, link the purchasing LLC to the same address as DiCaprio's production company.

Once owned by entertainer Dinah Shore, the 1.34-acre estate in the Old Las Palmas area was originally offered in January for $5.5 million. DiCaprio closed on the home (pictured above and in the slideshow below) last Tuesday for $5.2 million. Built in 1965, the house was designed by architect Donald Wexler for Shore. Measuring 7,022 square feet, the midcentury home has six bedrooms and eight bathrooms. Previous owners did extensive work on the home, restoring much of Wexler's original design.

DiCaprio owns quite a host of properties, including two homes in New York, a sprawl in Los Angeles proper and a home in Malibu. He sold one of his Malibu properties late last year for $17.35 million.
