Pentagon Awards $594 Million in Defense Contracts Friday

After taking Thursday off, the Department of Defense awarded 15 defense contracts Friday, worth a total of $594.1 million. Among the publicly traded defense contractors winning contracts:

  • AAR Corp won a $133 million indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for the repair and production of U.S. Air Force "463L" standardized cargo pallets, used for transporting military cargo by air. Work on this contract is expected to be complete by Feb. 13, 2016.

  • Jacobs Engineering won a $45 million cost-plus-fixed-fee contract covering work at the New Bedford Harbor Superfund Site for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. This contract will run through at least Aug. 13, 2015.

  • BAE Systems' Norfolk Ship Repair division was awarded a $57 million undefinitized contract action funding maintenance and upgrades work on the guided missile cruiser USS Monterey (CG 61) while it is in dry-dock through January 2015.

  • CACI was awarded a $10.8 million option-year exercise funding various on-site operational support efforts to be provided to the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense (Comptroller) through Feb. 15, 2015.

  • Raytheon was awarded a $9.5 million contract modification funding the design, manufacture, and installation of test equipment, plus associated testing services, and training necessary to standup a U.S. Navy maintenance depot for work on AN/APY-10 Radar systems. Work on this contract should be completed by March 31, 2016.
