Boeing Wins Defense Contracts for F-15, F-18 Work

The Department of Defense awarded 12 defense contracts Wednesday, worth a total of $466.2 million. Boeing didn't win the biggest of these awards -- that went to a privately owned construction firm doing work on Balad Air Base in Iraq, in preparation for the arrival of the Iraqi Air Force's new Lockheed Martin -built F-16 fighter jets -- but Boeing did win the second biggest contract, and a second contract for good measure.

Boeing's biggest contract win was a $51.2 million contract modification, instructing the company to supply and integrate additional weapons systems, ARC-210 RT 1990 Gen 5 radios, and aluminum-composite honeycomb structural parts into Royal Saudi Air Force F-15SA fighter jets. Work on this contract should be completed by Feb. 29, 2020.

Boeing's second award, worth $19 million, was a delivery order under a pre-existing contract to supply major structural repair and maintenance equipment for U.S. Navy F/A-18E/F fighter-bombers and EA-18G electronic warfare aircraft. Delivery on this order is due January 2018.
