You Deserve To Love Your Job [VIDEO]

Everyone deserves to love their job. And why not? The average American working full time spends 1,700 hours a year at their job. Jobs, like families, friends and hobbies, give people a sense of purpose. Whether we save lives or educate the nation's future leaders or do it just to put food on the table, our work is meaningful. Without it, we "go stark, raving mad," as author Fyodor Dostoyevsky famously said.

We've dedicated AOL Jobs Week to this notion, and to kick things off, we hit the streets of New York City to find out what people's jobs mean to them. From young creatives to construction veterans, each shares their own reasons for picking and sticking to the work they do day in and out.
