TASER Announces Significant AXON On-Body Camera Sales
In its latest update on sales of its new line of AXON on-body wearable camcorders for police officers, TASER Internationalreported Wednesday that it has booked two sizable new contracts with law enforcement, as well as several smaller orders. All of these orders were received, and are expected to turn up as revenue, in the first half of fiscal 2014.
The headlines today feature:
the sale of 82 "AXON flex" and 18 "AXON body" on-body cameras to the Coweta County Sheriff's Office in Georgia;
five-year-long subscriptions for these cameras to TASER's EVIDENCE.com digital video storage service; and
the renewal of TASER's contract to provide EVIDENCE.com service to the Newport News Police Department in Virginia for its 142 AXON flex cameras for a new five-year term.
TASER noted that it has made additional sales of AXON body and flex cameras, plus EVIDENCE.com subscriptions, to law enforcement agencies in: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Georgia, Maine, Missouri, Nebraska, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Texas, and West Virginia.
At listed prices of $499 for AXON flex and $299 for AXON body, these sales appear to represent one-time H1 2014 sales revenue of more than $46,000 for TASER, with recurring monthly EVIDENCE.com revenue in excess of $2,400.
