Watch a Cruise Ship Get Split in Half (Intentionally)

This time-lapse video shows a cruise ship get split in half and made 99-feet longer. Now, seaworthy again, the ship can return to the seas for fun and adventure but hopefully not encounters with norovirus or cannibal rats.

According to Gizmodo, "The ship is the Balmoral, a ship owned and operated by Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines, and built in 1988. The video shows the ship entering the Blohm + Vosss shipyard in Hamburg where it was extended by way inserting a 99-foot midsection."
