Pentagon Announces $242 Million Environmental Engineering Contract
The Department of Defense awarded 10 defense contracts worth $599.7 million in combined value Friday. The largest of the contracts awarded, worth $242 million, was a firm-fixed-price contract to perform unspecified "environmental engineering support services" for the Army National Guard.
These funds will be split among four publicly traded companies and six privately held firms. The four public companies are:
AECOM Technology
SAIC
Tetra Tech
URS Corporation ...
Although the Pentagon did not spell out the terms of this contract in its brief announcement, the usual procedure for these kind of multiple awardee contracts is for the companies named to be put on a list, permitting them to bid against each other for the right to execute individual task orders for the Army as they are announced. Thus, any of these companies may or may not win a substantial portion of the $242 million in funds on offer.
This contract will remain in force through Jan. 23, 2017.
