Pump Prices Down Third Week in a Row

Americans are paying less at the gas pump this week, according to an Energy Information Administration report released today.

The national average price for regular gasoline clocked in at $3.296 per gallon yesterday, down $0.031 from a week ago and $0.019 below the same time last year. Midwest prices dropped the most ($0.053), while Rocky Mountain region prices barely budged, down just $0.003.

Diesel prices also took a dip with a $0.013 decline over the past week to $3.873 per gallon. This latest price tag puts diesel $0.029 per gallon below the same time last year. West Coast prices fell $0.030, while East Coasters felt a slight $0.006 increase.

At these latest prices, the West Coast pays the prettiest penny for gasoline ($3.492) and diesel ($3.966), while the Gulf Coast can guzzle gas for just $3.103 and diesel for $3.771 per gallon.
