Aluminum companies has been lobbying the automotive industry to make the switch from steel for some time now. It appears their efforts are starting to pay off. Ford recently announced that its new F-150 will sport a much more lightweight frame thanks to the fact that it will now be 97% aluminum. Companies like Alcoa and Kaiser Aluminum have to be licking their chops, hoping that it convinces other major manufacturers to follow suit. For more on our take, check out the video clip below.
