AGL Snags Second UPS LNG Contract

AGL Resources announced today that it has won a second liquefied natural gas (LNG) supply contract with United Parcel Service .

AGL Resource's Pivotal LNG subsidiary has provided LNG at United Parcel Service's Nashville and Knoxville, Tenn., facilities since April 2013. This latest agreement adds on a third supply spot in Jacksonville, Fla.

"We are very pleased to expand the LNG supply service we provide to UPS...we look forward to continuing to fulfill their LNG needs for years to come," said AGL President for Storage and Fuels Steve Cittadine in a statement today.

AGL's new contract win goes hand in hand with UPS' continued push toward LNG. The shipping company currently has around 110 LNG trucks in its fleet, but plans to add on 700 more by the end of 2014 .

According to Cittadine, AGL's scale and LNG access give his company an edge over other energy companies, with Pivotal LNG "uniquely positioned to serve its customers in several regions offering consistent fuel supply."
