Pump Prices Down Again for 2014
Pump prices are down slightly for the second straight week in 2014, according to an Energy Information Administration report (link opens a PDF) released today.
Retail regular gasoline prices clocked in at a national average of $3.327 per gallon for Jan. 13, $0.005 below last week's price tag. East Coast prices dropped the most ($0.028), while the Midwest saw a $0.031 increase in gas prices.
Compared with a year ago, pump prices are up $0.024.

For the same period, average retail diesel prices dropped $0.024 for a national average of $3.886 per gallon. On a regional basis, West Coast prices made the deepest $0.038 dip, while East Coast prices fell just $0.010.
Over the past year, diesel prices have dropped $0.008.

At these latest prices, the West Coast pays the prettiest penny for gasoline ($3.526) and diesel ($3.996). At the other end, the Gulf Coast can guzzle gas for just $3.108 and diesel for $3.780 per gallon.
