Visit 'Game of Thrones'' King's Landing for Real (Kind Of)
The British village of Kings Langley, located 21 miles north of London in Hertfordshire county, is changing its name to King's Landing, the fictional capital of the Seven Kingdoms in "Game of Thrones," fictionally located on the east coast of Westeros, overlooking the fictional Blackwater Bay (according to Wikia).
E! Online reports that the transition will occur on Feb. 18 to "coincide with "Game of Thrones'" DVD release."
As for what "Game of Thrones" fans will find should they travel to Kings Langley, er King's Landing, according to the village's official website:
It was once the location of a Royal palace of the Plantagenet kings of England. The 12th century parish church of All Saints houses the tomb of the first Duke of York. Kings Langley lies 2 miles south of Hemel Hempstead, 2 miles north of Watford, and approximately 1 mile north-west of Abbots Langley village.s
