Pentagon Awards $104 Million in Defense Contracts Tuesday

The Department of Defense awarded only five new defense contracts Monday, worth just $104.3 million in total. Publicly traded defense contractors claimed two of the contracts.

First, Bell Helicopter maker Textron was awarded an $18.6 million modification, extending by six months (through Aug. 8) its contract to provide logistics support for U.S. Army Bell 407, Huey, Jet Ranger, and OH-58A&C helicopters.

Also, a joint venture between Tetra Tech and privately held Pond & Co. won a $9.5 million firm-fixed-price contract to perform architectural and engineering services for U.S. Army, Air Force, and other military and civil works, primarily within the Great Lakes and Ohio River Division boundaries. This contract will run through Jan. 8, 2018.
