Gas Prices Up $0.035 at the Pump
Americans are paying more at the gas pump this week, according to an Energy Information Administration report released Monday.
The national average price for regular gasoline clocked in at $3.479 per gallon today, up $0.035 from a week ago and $0.28 below the same time last year. The Rocky Mountain region saw prices head highest (+$0.068), while the East Coast saw the slightest $0.009 bump.

While gas prices increased, diesel prices edged down one-tenth of one cent to $4.016 per gallon. This latest price tag puts diesel $0.114 per gallon below the same time last year. Regional price movements were up and down, with Rocky Mountain prices heading highest (+$0.033) while Gulf Coast prices fell $0.013 per gallon.

At these latest prices, the West Coast pays the prettiest penny for gasoline ($3.708) and the East Coast doles out the most for diesel ($4.155). On the other end, the Gulf Coast can guzzle gas for just $3.227 and diesel for $3.793 per gallon.
