Pump Prices Up $0.03 for 2013

Pump prices are up this week and this year, according to an Energy Information Administration report (link opens a PDF) released today.

Retail regular gasoline prices clocked in at a national average of $3.33 per gallon for Dec. 30, $0.06 above last week's price tag. Midwest prices are up the most ($0.104), while the East Coast saw a relatively small $0.033 increase in gas prices.

Compared with a year ago, national pump prices are up $0.033.

For the same period, average retail diesel prices increased $0.03 for a national average of $3.903 per gallon. On a regional basis, Midwest and West Coast prices increased the most ($0.04), while Gulf Coast prices added on just $0.017 to per gallon prices.

Over the last year, diesel prices are still down $0.015.

At these latest prices, the West Coast pays the prettiest penny for gasoline ($3.526) and diesel ($4.025). On the other end, the Rocky Mountain region can guzzle gas for just $3.10, while diesel costs the Gulf Coast only $3.789 per gallon.
