Burger King Revamps Budget Menu

Burger King Worldwide has emerged from the kitchen with a rebranded menu of budget offerings. Currently known simply as the "Value Menu," the selection will be rechristened the "King Deals Value Menu." It will also feature a pair of new sandwiches, rodeo crispy chicken and rodeo burger, which will be available for $1 each for a limited time.

The new items bring the restaurant chain operator's budget offerings to a total of 23. They include meal items such as burgers and chicken nuggets, hot and cold drinks, and desserts. Prices start at $1 per item.

Burger King's devotion to its lower-cost products doesn't seem to have affected its finances. In its most recently reported quarter, the company posted net income of just over $68 million ($0.19) per share on revenue of $275 million. The figures for the same period the previous year were $6.6 million ($0.02) and $456 million, respectively. The firm also recently lifted its quarterly dividend from $0.06 per share to $0.07.
