Seadrill Beats Ensco on Our List of Favorite Energy Stocks
In the rig industry, Ensco has been trying very hard to do its best impersonation of the top ultra-deepwater driller, Seadrill . It has a young fleet of vessels that can be used in the most extreme water depths today, and it is garnering top dollar for these assets. Still, there are still a few things setting Seadrill apart from Ensco among our favorite energy stocks in 2013.
One of the major differences between the two companies is the age of their shallow water jack up fleets. Much of Ensco's fleet is approaching the end of its economic life, while the entire fleet for Seadrill is less than five years old.
