LEGO: The Hobbit: Coming to a Console Near You

Updated

A teaser advertisement for LEGO: The Hobbit has been released, prompting speculation that a game may soon be ready for release. GameZone reports that the game will be based off of the first two films of the Hobbit Trilogy (The Hobbit: an Unexpected Journey and The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug). Players will romp through Middle Earth in classic LEGO fashion, hitting familiar landmarks, characters, and events.

Judging from the promo ad pictured above, you'll be able to join Bilbo Baggins, Gandalf the Grey, and Thorin Oakenshield, and it'll be available on the Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3, PS4, PS Vita, Wii U, 3DS, and PC/Mac. As far as release dates go, nothing has been officially announced, but it wouldn't be surprising if it coincided with the release of the film version of The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug, set to release December 13th. Regardless, we're excited: LEGO has been killing it lately in the movies-to-video games genre.
