Boeing Wins $325 Million Ballistic Missile Defense Contract

The Department of Defense announced 14 new defense contracts, worth $1.38 billion in aggregate, Friday. The biggest of these contracts will be divided up among some of the nation's largest defense-and-civilian government contractors, tasked with performing certain unspecified "technical, administrative, and operation support services" for the Army.

The second biggest contract awarded, though, went to a single defense contractor: Boeing.

Valued at up to $325 million, Boeing's sole-source, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract will have the defense contracting giant working on "highly complex systems engineering and integration requirements" related to the United States' Ballistic Missile Defense System. Boeing will begin work on this task immediately, and continue working on it over the next five years as task orders are received, all the way through Nov. 14, 2018.
