Ford's Touch Screen: Critics Hate It, but It Sells Big

Ford's U.S. sales have been booming lately, and so have its profits. The company's sales were up again last month, and its third-quarter profits made investors quite happy.


This all comes as influential critics have put a bull's-eye on the Blue Oval. The latest quality survey from Consumer Reports puts Ford near the bottom of the list. The big culprit: Ford's touch-screen "infotainment" system, called MyFord Touch.

Critics say that the system is buggy and hard to use. Ford says that it's working hard to make it better -- but lots of Ford customers are happily paying up for it anyway.
