On a recent trip to Houston, Texas, Motley Fool analysts Taylor Muckerman and Joel South met with several executives at some of the most well known companies in the energy space. One trend they witnessed across all five was the ability to remain nimble in an ever-changing market. Prime examples can be found in the offshore drilling space with Atwood Oceanics updating its fleet, in the research and development phase with Core Laboratories , through new drilling techniques at Halcon Resources , at Kinder Morgan which transports nearly every type of fuel imaginable and in the acquisitive nature of National Oilwell Varco .
