Citrix CEO Takes Leave of Absence

Citrix Systems CEO Mark B. Templeton is taking a temporary leave of absence.

A death in the family has necessitated its chief executive officer's taking some time off, the Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based cloud-computing company announced Wednesday. While Templeton is out of the office, Chief Financial Officer David J. Henshall will serve as acting CEO. The Associated Press reports that Templeton's 27-year-old son recently died.

The duration of Templeton's leave has not been determined, but however long it lasts, the company indicated that he will remain in contact with the company through his role as a member of the board of directors. Meanwhile, Henshall, a 10-year veteran of the firm, will hold down the fort.

As the company explained in a statement, Henshall already oversees Citrix's worldwide finance and operations organizations, including accounting, strategic development, financial planning and analysis, treasury, tax, and investor relations. He also leads the Company's IT, operations, supply chain, and real estate teams.
