Riverbed Gets a New Head Marketing Officer

Computer networking special Riverbed Technology continues to remake its C-suite, announcing today that Kate Hutchinson has been appointed chief marketing office after successfully luring her away from Polycom, where she served as executive vice president and CMO.

In August, Riverbed named a new chief information officer and before that a new chief technology officer.

In a statement welcoming her aboard, Riverbed Chairman and CEO Jerry M. Kennelly noted her tenure with Polycom as well as several other tech companies including VMware, Citrix, and BEA, and said, "Kate's insight and industry knowledge will help us elevate the Riverbed brand, stimulate increased demand for our solutions and drive revenue growth across our entire product portfolio. We are delighted to welcome her inspiration and leadership."

Riverbed shares are up 1.1% on this news, and as of the close of trading today, ended the day at $14.51 per share.
