JetBlue September Traffic Figures Rise

JetBlue managed to fly relatively high last month. The airline has released its September traffic figures, revealing that the significant metrics grew on a year-over-year basis. Revenue passenger miles were up over that period by 1.6%, reaching 2.55 billion. Available seat miles nudged skyward by 0.6% to 3.2 billion.

The total number of revenue passengers advanced by 1% on a year-over-year basis to hit nearly 2.2 million. A higher increase was notched in the number of departures; this grew by 2.8% across that stretch of time to a total of 21,643. Meanwhile, load factor (i.e., the average "occupancy" of the carrier's planes) was 79.5% this past September, or around 90 basis points higher than the 78.6% recorded in the same month of 2012.
