On Thursday morning, fans of comics rejoiced when the folks at Disney-owned Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. took to their Twitter page with this announcement:

Of course, many people who commented expressed surprise that Disney hadn't already picked up Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. for the full first season, especially after last Tuesday's show managed to beat out even CBS' perennial ratings juggernaut, NCIS, in the key 18-49 demographic.
