Ranked Among the Top Three Since 2006

SALT LAKE CITY--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- The State of Utah's official website, Utah.Gov, was recognized today by the Center for Digital Government with the Best of the Web award for the sixth year running. Utah.gov has ranked in the top three best state websites since 2006.

"Utah's online services have saved the State millions of dollars, and served Utahns in innovative and accessible ways," said Governor Gary R. Herbert. "When it comes to our use of technology, we just keep getting better and better."

The Best of the Web Awards program showcase governments whose websites demonstrate innovation, usability and functionality for users.

"This award is the pinnacle of achievement for state websites and we are honored by their recognition," Mark VanOrden said. "But more importantly, this award mirrors the daily focus we have on delivering easy, accessible and innovative state services to all Utahns."

Utah.Gov's Smart Search and responsive design allows residents of Utah to easily navigate various state services to get the help or support needed. In the last 12 months, Utah.gov services provided over 11 million online job referrals to Utah citizens, gave access to 16 new online education programs, and provided 114 gigabytes of open data (30,000 downloads) each week.

"As technology continues to evolve, governments are finding innovative ways to utilize new technologies and transform operations in ways that better engage citizens," said Todd Sander, Executive Director of the Center for Digital Government. "Utah has demonstrated the ability to adapt to the changing technology landscape, while creating first-class public and business services. Congratulations Utah for such remarkable achievements!"
