Tech's Big Brands Keep on Booming

As we saw yet again in global brand consultancy Interbrand's annual ranking of the world's most valuable brands, many of tech's largest names today cast very large shadows.

Big tech featured prominently across the entire list, but received especially impressive placement toward the top. In fact, household names Apple , Google , IBM , and Microsoft comprised four of the top five most valuable brands in the entire world, carrying together a combined brand value of over $300 billion.

Apple and Google both saw their brand values increase over 25% since last year's rankings, climbing into first and second place, respectively, and edging out Coca-Cola after an impressive 13-year run at the top. IBM and Microsoft, on the other hand, saw each of their brand values tick up only modestly, but still carried enough weight to register come in at fourth and fifth place, respectively, this year.
