Alliant Energy Declares Fresh Dividend

Alliant Energy is keeping its shareholder payout light on. The company today declared its latest quarterly common stock dividend, which is to be $0.47 per share paid on Nov. 15 to shareholders of record as of Oct. 31. That amount matches the company's's three preceding distributions, the most recent of which was paid in August. Prior to that, Alliant Energy was slightly less generous, dispensing $0.45 per share.

Alliant has been an extremely stable dividend payer for many years. In the press release announcing the upcoming distribution, it pointed out that it has handed out a disbursement for 272 consecutive quarters dating to 1946.

The just-declared dividend annualizes to $1.88 per share. That yields 3.8% at Alliant Energy's most recent closing stock price of $50.02.
