Pump Prices Drop Again

Pump prices are down this week, according to an Energy Information Administration report (link opens as PDF) released today.

Retail regular gasoline prices clocked in at a national average of $3.425 per gallon for September 30, $0.07 below last week's price tag. Midwest prices dropped the most ($0.108), while the Rocky Mountain region saw only a $0.037 dip in gas prices.

Compared to a year ago, pump prices are down $0.379.

For the same period, average retail diesel prices fell $0.03, for a national average of $3.919 per gallon. On a regional basis, West Coast prices made the deepest $0.036 dip, while Rocky Mountain prices dropped just $0.016 per gallon.

Over the last year, diesel prices have fallen $0.16.

At these latest prices, the West Coast pays the prettiest penny for gasoline ($3.802) and diesel ($4.075). On the other end, the Gulf Coast can guzzle gas for just $3.176 and diesel for $3.831 per gallon.
