OSHA Recognizes Cintas in Strongsville, Ohio with Highest Safety Designation

STRONGSVILLE, Ohio--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Cintas Corporation (NAS: CTAS) today announced that its uniform rental facility in Strongsville, Ohio has received Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) Star certification from the Ohio Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). The VPP Star certification is OSHA's highest recognition for the practice of and commitment to exemplary occupational safety and health.

The Cintas uniform rental facility in Strongsville is the 16th rental facility and the 20th companywide to receive Star designation. The facility's 153 employee-partners, along with representatives from OSHA, and state and community officials celebrated the honor with a flag raising ceremony and luncheon held at the facility in Strongsville.

"Today I saw the future," said Thomas Queen on behalf of Congressman Jim Renacci. "Your company and this location are going to show America a better way. The safety best practice ideas you come up with are shared within the company and within the industry. You cannot put a price tag on safety."

Cintas' Strongsville facility began the VPP process two years ago. The designation required successful completion of a strict and rigorous audit and collaboration between all levels of management and employee-partners in order to create an environment of continuous safety improvement.

"Our location is passionate about looking out for each other's safety and doing everything we can to continue to improve the safety of our employee-partners and facility. That is really what this award is all about," said John Miller, Cintas General Manager of Strongsville.

Cintas Corporation has more than 360 facilities throughout the world actively pursuing VPP recognition by OSHA or the equivalent under a similar certifying body. This includes operations in the U.S., Canada, the United Kingdom, Mexico and Honduras.
