New Standard Means You Could Be Working With Robots Soon

The big news in robotics has been the adoption of the RIA/ANSI F15.06 2012 safety guideline earlier this year. This is a pivotal moment in robotics because the new standard allows for companies to use collaborative robots in the workplace and remain ANSI certified, as long as they comply with the new guidelines. It also should lead to the development of standards by the International Organization for Standardization, which are considered more important than ANSI standards. offers a great explanation of the impact of the standards in this video.
