SAIC Wins Pentagon Contracts for Fleet Training, 3-D Data Collection
The Department of Defense announced 64 separate contract awards worth $3.51 billion on Wednesday. Of these, defense contractor Science Applications International Corp., better known as SAIC , won two:
a $33.9 million option-eligible, non-multiyear contract to collect, process, disseminate, store, and maintain high-resolution 3-D geospatial information for the U.S. Army. This data will be generated by conducting flight operations and terrestrial collection operations, processing and producing the required high-resolution 3-D geospatial data products over all operationally relevant portions of the Earth.
a $14.4 million firm-fixed-price contract to support and conduct fleet training for the Navy's U.S. Fleet Forces Command through March 25, 2014. This contract, which contains options that may extend its duration through July 25, 2014, will have SAIC providing necessary "support and expertise" to assist Fleet Forces Command in training policy, directive development, execution, assessment, and readiness reporting.
