Tyler Technologies Named to Software Magazine's 31st Annual Software 500

Software Magazine ranks Tyler Technologies as one of the world's largest software companies

PLANO, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- For the sixth consecutive year, Tyler Technologies, Inc. (NYS: TYL) has been included in Software Magazine's Software 500 ranking of the world's largest software and service providers, now in its 31st year.

Tyler Technologies ranks 166 in the 2013 Software 500, with a total software and services revenue of $330 million reported in 2012, rising from a rank of 179 in 2012 based on its 2011 total software and services revenue. Tyler Technologies is the largest national provider of integrated software systems and information technology services exclusively focused on the public sector.

"The 2013 Software 500 results show that employment in the software and services industry was very healthy, increasing 9.5 percent to total Software 500 company employment of 4,924,121," said John P. Desmond, editor, Software Magazine. "At the same time, overall revenue was up 4 percent from last year to $672.9 billion."

"We are honored to be recognized for the sixth straight year by Software Magazine as one of the 500 largest software companies in the world," said John S. Marr Jr., president and chief executive officer of Tyler Technologies. "We have served the public sector for more than 45 years, and we are pleased to partner with a growing portfolio of local government and school clients who rely on Tyler's proven software and services to operate more efficiently and cost-effectively."

The Software 500 is a revenue-based ranking of the world's largest software and services suppliers, targeting medium to large enterprises, their IT professionals, software developers, and business managers involved in software and services purchasing.

The ranking is based on total worldwide software and services revenue for 2012. This includes revenue from software licenses, maintenance and support, training, and software-related services, and consulting. Suppliers are not ranked on total corporate revenue, since many have other lines of business, such as hardware. Financial information is gathered by a survey prepared by Rockport Custom Publishing, LLC., using public documents and company input. It is published in print as well as posted online at www.softwaremag.com as both a digital edition and searchable database.
